HAND MADE OBOES BY MARSHA TAYLOR
homepage | reed making | 18th century oboes
As a maker of reproductions of
18th Century oboes, Marsha Taylor makes not only the tried and trued oboes such as the
Schlegel and the J. Denner but is always researching and introducing copies by more
obscure but equally important makers of the oboe.
As a Baroque oboist, Taylor has been a student of Ku Ebbinge at the Vancouver Baroque
Music Workshop in British Columbia and has attended the Baroque Performance Institute in
Oberlin, Ohio. She has performed extensively as a Baroque oboist in California,
Washington, Ohio, Canada and Oregon. Marsha Taylor's oboes have been shown at the Boston
Early Music Festival, International Double Reed Society and the Berkeley Early Music
Festival.
She is also a professional reedmaker and Baroque oboe staplemaker.
